So It Begins
Thought this blog was dead? Mostly, but not beyond resuscitation. Those of you who comprise the handful of daily visitors…whoever you are, you rock.
This past week was a milestone in the world of speech and debate, with our first ever qualifying tournament of 2010. It was spectacular. Need I say more? (And, yes. For those of you wondering as to my excuse for blatant bloggy abandonment, speech and debate is the best one I’ve got.)
Pictures courtesy of Toni:

Posing with the 2010 January Warmup apologetics champion, who also happens to be a lovely friend of mine.

More lovely friends! (Josie, this one’s for you.)

Funny guys (who also happen to be really awesome debaters).

Hannah celebrated her 18th birthday at the tournament. Pictured are two pretty awesome gals.

Flowing outrounds. Go ARC!

Slightly hyper?

More fantastic debaters!

Waiting on the awards ceremony, and getting just a tad bit crazy on Mountain Dew. Or maybe that was just me.

ARC at the end of a very awesome tournament. Congratulations, all of you!

IN MY DEFENSE: I only wore pink to match Jonathan’s pink tie. But yes…that was a significant happening in the life of Beth.
Jonathan on 19 Jan 2010 at 2:37 pm #
*feels honored* pink. yeah, I’m still wondering what i think about that color…
Grace on 19 Jan 2010 at 4:59 pm #
It rocked. What else is new? =D
Christina on 19 Jan 2010 at 5:46 pm #
Wow, you pictured everyone showing their personalities!

Jonathan and William: Always Hyper.
You: smiling/thinking that the guys are weird.
Garcies: Happy.
Alex: Mature.
Ben: Funny.
Except the picture of Jonathan and Josh sitting quietly doesn’t really get to their true, inner, real self.
:p

Nice photo Beth. Although It appears that Toni took most of them seeing as how you *IN* most of them!
Yes it was an epic and awesome!!!! GO ARC.
God bless,
Alex

Wow. Seriously, I can hardly believe you posted! I hadn’t heard from you in so long (well of course you hadn’t really heard from me either for that matter) that I almost mailed you a *real* note written on *real* paper.
Maybe I’ll still do that one of these days. Just for fun.
ARC… well, let me just say that it almost makes me wish I lived in Austin, haha! We do have a “speech co-op” with a couple other homeschooling families in town, but it’s not involved in NCFCA. I kinda wish we were.
*sighs with contentment* It was just so great to read a new blog post and know you aren’t dead or anything. Please don’t wait another month before posting again.

Alison!! Wow, a snail-mail letter would make my day/week/month/all of the above.
(Oops, was that a hint?) But yes! It’s been way too long since we talked. I do stalk your gmail statuses, though, even when I can’t actually chat.
I have a brilliant idea: y’all should move to Texas, join ARC, and live happily ever after competing in the NCFCA. *beams*
…okay, a little far fetched, but still.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by to comment! I shall do my best not to wait a month before posting again.

Haha! And you should be, Jonathan.
ps, Idk why in the world you don’t wear it more often… Hehe, be-eth that Toni’s old suit, per-chance?
*applauds significant happening*
Beth on 20 Jan 2010 at 12:14 am #
Haha! Oh yeah. Toni’s suit…and Brian’s tie. Nice how that worked out.

pps, MOUNTAIN DEW??? Oh my goodness, don’t get me started… the LAST time I had mountain dew, I was talking so fast i almost swallowed my tongue.
For realz… it was bad.
Me+Mountain Dew = B.A.D.
Me+Mountain Dew+ debate tournament = someone call an ambulance, QUICK!!!
In short, Mountain Dew is the single awesomest liquid on the planet. *in my HUMBLE opinion
Beth on 20 Jan 2010 at 12:23 am #
Woooooow. Yeah, Mountain Dew can get kinda scary. Um…especially if you’re standing in front of me while I’m drinking it…and then you make me laugh. *cough*
But I must disagree on one point: Sprite totally beats Mountain Dew 99% of the time. For example, when caffeine is not a priority.
Laura on 20 Jan 2010 at 8:49 am #
Beth, you updated! I was just about to check on KT and ask her if your were still alive or something.
And yes, Sprite ROCKS. Especially since I’m allergic to Mountain Dew.

Yeah, Mountain dew CAN get QUITE scary…
And I think everyone pretty much agrees that the tournament was AWESOME!
Owen on 22 Jan 2010 at 2:10 pm #
YES! It was a great tournament.
