To Mr. Dekker, Again:
I must say, reading Green made me seriously consider bumping you down a notch on my list of favorite authors. But just so you know, you’re back up there again.
Skin is pure genius.
I absolutely can’t understand how you do it. Even reading with the knowledge that there would be one of your signature twists at the end, I couldn’t for the life of me guess what it would be. And on top of the brilliant plot, riveting story, and fabulous characters, you throw in a deeper theme that makes it all even better. How many contemporary novels tackle the theme of beauty?
This doesn’t make Green any more acceptable to me. But know that I spent all day yesterday reading Skin, and all evening ranting about its awesomeness.
Thanks.

wow….ok…that was rather quick. What type of books are they anyway funny, serious, scary, creepy, good, bad, entertaining, history, mystery, or other?
Yup. I guess I recover easily from things like this…
And as for your question: Dekker’s books are serious, scary, creepy, good, mysterious, and…awesome. Thrillers, basically.
this is kind of random Beth, but I have some words for you that sound cool!!!
ready? “Fugacious Foofaraw”. you can put that somewhere in your Nano writing thingy-ma-bob.
wow…
I’ve had these suggested to me before, but my question is, which one should I read first?
A good question.
My suggestion:
Start off with the Circle Trilogy—Black, Red, and White. Then do the Paradise Novels—Showdown, Saint, Sinner. There’s also the Lost Books, but I’ve only read one of those and I really wasn’t inspired to read the rest.
At any rate, Skin isn’t technically connected to the Circle, so you can read it anytime. Although it was absolutely thrilling to see the subtle connections.
All that to say…start with Black. *grin*
Then, that is what I will do.
I just have to figure out how to get my hands on a copy here in SA…
