Six Flags Over Texas!
Being the younger sibling of a graduate means a lot of things. It means you have the privilege of taking their senior pictures free of charge. It means you endure their constant worrying over invitations and the like. It means you get to shop for cute dresses without buying anything.
But it also means you get to go to Six Flags with a bunch of graduates and have a blast.

The guys on the way up.

First ride of the day: Goliath!

Second ride of the day—hey, why the weird looks?

“Big girls” can ride the carousel too.

A few of us, seized with a fit of madness, chose to ride The Scream.

And…they screamed. Loudly.

Peter, Paul, and Ben decided to indulge in a packet of mustard. Don’t ask me why.

This picture has a story to accompany it. (See video below)

All of us at the end of the day.

We took over Chic-fil-a, where Paul demonstrated his mayonnaise-writing skills.
The video below contains a frightening amount of weirdness. View at your own risk, and beware.

Oh, also like, the best trip EVER.

Ok, Ok, Ok. That looks like SO much fun! I love the Ben/Toni/water thing. (Real descriptive, right?) But I think Toni should’ve been happy to get wet. I mean, it was really hot Saturday!
Did ANYBODY go on the Titan or the Batman? Those are the best rides of the park, I’m telling you.
Also, how come Paul got to come, since he’s not a graduate?

well, Glad everyone had a good time! Awesome picture of Ben on the horse
I have to admit that the mustard is weird (even though I might might have done it myself but I didn’t…

I’m a younger sibling of a graduate and I didn’t get to go to Six Flags!
It looks like you had a blast!

Wow! Mayonnaise writing skills??!!! LOL!
Looks like it was a ton of fun!
JoyH on 11 May 2009 at 11:27 pm #
My family and I went on the rapids at Disney Land, but I didn’t get as wet as Toni did!
And BTW, eating mustard packs is the nastiest thing I’ve ever heard of! Especially as I only like a little bit of mustard at a time. I don’t know how y’all guys have the stomach to eat that much!
Aggie on 12 May 2009 at 3:34 am #
I used to eat mayonnaise straight out of the packet just because I thought it tasted good that way.
Anyway, good pictures! Did someone else go as ‘parental supervision’ besides Paul?
You guys should go to Schlitterbahn some time. Totally fun!

Ok, the whole water thing… it was honestly… an accident… but… um… well… i guess i just wasn’t thinking straight or something… because on the way to the ride, i saw the waterfall, not to mention the people getting off of the ride COMPLETELY SOAKED…. But um… yeah.
Oh, and Joy, don’t knock the mustard ’till you’ve tried it!
it was actually surprisingly good!
And the stomach for it just comes naturally, we ARE guys after all.

Mustard is the worst condiment ever invented. But straight from the packet doesn’t sound so bad. But if I had a choice I would rather do it with ketchup or mayonnaise. Mayonnaise sounds the best.:)

I really enjoyed your post here and all, Beth, but I think it displaced your previous post way too soon. That heading needed to be up for a while…you know…the one that started out “I was —–”. It has been too long in coming and therefore deserved more front page time, in my opinion. Why did you have to move on so quickly?
Love you Bethy,:) Mommy

Hilarious video…I suppose the guys’ CD is coming to stores pretty soon?
Same thing happened to me when we went to Fiesta Texas…someone told me it would only be a sprinkle and it wasn’t.

Oh, my! That looks like so much fun! Those are great pictures, and the video is hilarious! I’m so glad I got to see everyone on Friday. Well, I’m glad you go with them, Beth.

Yup, we all did the Batman (except Lydia, who pragmatically valued her physical well-being over an idealistically fun ride). And I think Paul got to come because he didn’t get a senior trip last year.
Beth on 13 May 2009 at 2:43 pm #
Wow…I could never eat mayonnaise that way. *gags* And yes, we had my dad and Mr. Morgan there to keep things from getting to crazy.
Paul Hastings on 13 May 2009 at 7:53 pm #
Whoa, whoa… you thought I was going as parental supervision?
Wow.
Guys and condiments mutually attract. Enough said.
Beth on 13 May 2009 at 7:56 pm #
Paul as parental supervision…
*laughing…loudly*

Okay, Ben, I won’t ‘knock the mustard’ till I’ve tried it, but it still gives me that weird feeling whenever I think of it… and to change the subject from mustard, I’ll say that mayonnaise by it’s self is totally worse!
Alex M. on 14 May 2009 at 6:46 pm #
It was awesome! I’m so glad I got to go!
Lydia on 16 May 2009 at 1:42 pm #
So yes I “valued” my physical well being over a “fun” ride. But!!! I had fun with the dads eating bar-b-q while they were off riding rides. Then Mr Maisano put me in a head lock on the Scooby-Doo Ghost blasters ride.
So much fun! Just to let you know I would do the whole day over again in a heart beat!
Bean on 18 May 2009 at 9:58 pm #
I agree, that post was your monumental moment of realization.

Great pictures! I Loved the video! Because The “weirdness” Was exactly the same type of stuff My Cousins and Us do when were together! Hey, I warn everyone that we’re a weird family! LOL But it’s a good kind of weird!
Love,
