Word of the Day
Words are so much fun. They can be put together in ways that make you think, give you goosebumps, or leave you feeling sad or happy. The words you’re reading now are probably making you wonder why the writer took time to put them here in the first place.
I’ve been looking up lots of words lately, mostly for use as chapter titles. There’s something really cool about having each chapter titled with a single word—it’s a nice effect. So far, I’ve found titles for each of the twenty-four chapters I’ve outlined. The only problem is, I’ll need at least fifteen more, and my imagination is beginning to fail me.
So I have come to present you with a question: Do you have a favorite word? Perhaps one that wouldn’t be too out-of-place in a fantasy novel? Maybe?
Beth’s List Of Cool Words:
- Dichotomy

Those are LOOONNNGG words!!! LOL!
ha… words… well I have to admit that “Dirigible” is fun to say… especially when toddlers say it!
Well, one of my favorite words is Dendrochronology (Den-drawk-uh-naw-luh-gee) But I don’t know if it would work in your book because it’s the study and the counting of the rings inside of a tree trunk.
I like the phrase “Unity in Diversity” but you could use them as separate words “Unity” and “Diversity”. Or words like “Euphemistic” (Basically means substitute) seem to come to mind. Or “Welkin” (old English that means “cloudy”). I do like long descriptive words. “Post-Totalitarianism”, “Counter-Terrorism”, “Econometric”, “Ecology”, “Economy”, “Predestination”, “Antidisestablishmentarianism”, “Antidisestablishmentarian”.
I know their are so many more words I like that I can’t think of right now. But I hope these help.
My favorite word is flummox, it is just so fun to say!

“Prodigality” (Excessive or imprudent expenditure.)
“Cute” and “Beth”. Those two words rank very high in my vocabulary. (I think they go together very nicely). And who could ever forget THE word: “wicked”.

Have fun in ARCansas, and with ScriptFrenzy too! I’ll be rooting for you in both.
This is a little late, but I have to give you my favorite word.
It’s Flocculate.
It means to form or cause to form into small clumps or masses.
You probably can’t use it, but it’s still awesome.
